Matthew J. Loven is an attorney in the Business Services Department specializing in commercial real estate and corporate law. Matthew has significate experience in real estate transactions, property development, and commercial leasing. As a prior municipal attorney, Matthew brings unique insight in working with local and state government to secure plat approval, permits, and entitlements. He further helps clients navigate title work, due diligence, as well as complete IRS 1031 exchanges. In addition, Matthew assists clients negotiate commercial leases for retail, restaurant and warehouse space as well as solve various issues related to public zoning and recorded covenants. Matthew is a member of the Minnesota Chapter of the Commercial Real Estate Development Association (NAIOP) as well as the Minnesota Shopping Center Association (MSCA).
Matthew holds an undergraduate degree in History from the University of Minnesota – Twin Cities and is a graduate of the University of St. Thomas School of Law in Minneapolis. Prior to joining Messerli & Kramer, Matthew worked as a legal attaché at the United Nations in New York City and as a municipal and real estate attorney in his hometown of St. Cloud, Minnesota.
